Also called The Corn Moon, Hunter’s Moon, Barley Moon, Wine Moon, Singing Moon and more.
The Harvest Moon tends to be large and more colourful than other moons of the year. Days are growing shorter and before electricity and motorized farm machinery farmers used the extra light provided by the Harvest Moon to extend their picking time. This is the time of year when the last of the crops are being gathered from the fields and stored for the winter. Take a moment to reflect on the bounty of the season.
This is a good time to prepare your environment for the upcoming chilly months; cooking, baking and canning. Also use this time to clear out clutter -- both physical and emotional -- before you have to spend the long winter days inside.
